Cost per Counseling Session, self pay: $180 – $275 (depending on service and provider credentials)
Sliding Scale: Yes, on a case by case basis

We are always willing to work with clients on payments plans, etc.

Psychological Testing Services: Varies based on referral question and type of testing batteries needed, but typically ranges from $700 for simple diagnostic testing to $1600+ for more comprehensive ADHD Autism, or testing needed to qualify for certain employment or benefits, such as social security disability. If prospective testing clients are involved or expect to be involved in a court case, a release of information and consult with one’s attorney is required and will incur a $55 fee per 15 minutes. This consultation is to ensure Dr. Steele-Wren can offer the specific testing being requested and to discuss any anticipated court appearance fees upfront.

*All health insurers listed above apply psychological testing services to any remaining deductible you have, as they consider it a specialty service from a doctor. We have no control over what happens once claims are submitted to your health insurer, we wish we did! Self-pay rates are lower than what you would pay to your health insurer for psychological testing if you have a high deductible and there are zero surprises with self-pay. You must pay expected costs the day of testing administration or you will be denied services which is within our rights and APA ethics codes. Dr. Steele-Wren also does not hold feedback sessions or release your final report when you have a balance due.

When not billing your health insurance, Dr. Steele-Wren never charges by the hour and generates a fair flat fee for the entire testing process and final report. If using health insurance for testing, the preauthorization and claims process dictates 100% of what Dr. Steele-Wren can provide for testing services.

Payment Policy: PsychologyWorks, PLLC requires all patients to keep a valid credit or debit card securely on file. Copays and co-insurance will be auto-charged the day of your scheduled session on the client portal. A $100 deposit is required to schedule psychological testing and all patients must agree for their card to be charged the final balance, or setup a monthly autopay arrangement in extenuating circumstances.*

*Please see our full financial policy HER

No Show & Cancellations

Since Dr. Steele-Wren and her staff reserve time for you and only receive reimbursement when patients show for their appointments; you must cancel/reschedule counseling appointments 48 hours in advance, or your card on file will be charged the rate of $100.* No-show or any cancellation, no matter how far in advance, of a testing appointment with Dr. Steele-Wren results in you losing your $100 deposit.

*Please see our full cancellation policy HERE.

No Surprises Act / Good Faith Estimates:

If you are not using a health insurance plan that PsychologyWorks, PLLC, is in-network with, and you are paying out of pocket for services, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the new law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. For psychology practices, this may include the number of sessions expected for your full treatment at our self-pay rates, or with psychological testing, an itemized estimate for the entire costs of testing.

If eligible, you must request a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
